Behind Tropikaldaze is Nat, a full-time tattoo artist residing in Singapore who adores medieval fantasy worlds, plants and bugs, mythology and cartoons.

Nat's illustration style was built on a childhood love for comic books and Saturday morning cartoons, which eventually led her to study Animation Arts in college and university. Her current work is shaped by a fascination with Art Nouveau, Gothic architecture, and medieval metalwork motifs.

Besides her fervour towards the mystical and magical, she also draws much inspiration and joy from the lush tropical greenery surrounding her in Southeast Asia. She thoroughly enjoys spotting wild fungi, identifying endemic birds, gazing at poofy clouds, or being enraptured by giant philodendron leaves in the (concrete) jungle.
